New Year's Resolutions

Saturday, May 18, 2013

Well, I had set some resolutions or goals or whatever you want to call them but, here it is mid-May and I haven't made any progress. It's not like I've done nothing. On January 1, I was sitting in a wheelchair with a cast on my foot after having tendon surgery. Now, I put in 120 fitness minutes a day. I eat a rainbow every day.

But I still have that diet mentality -- I'm either good or very, very bad. If I could be consistent, I know I would lose weight. I need to find that key.

How can we shake that diet mentality? I'm struggling with good food/bad food, poor choices/better choices, calorie intake/calorie output.
I need to figure out a balance and not think "I'm dieting" too. As soon as I do that I sabotage myself-
You seem to be doing extremely well on exercising. And I know you've altered your diet(meaning kinds of foods you ingest) not limiting certain foods.
    So what's not working?

You certainly aren't alone...and that's a good thing as we all help each other. Now, I know you have started your bike the streets challenge again & that's of course a great thing....try this "key" whenever you are contemplating what and how much you will eat...put it into terms of "What fuel does my body need?" Will you choose something that doesn't provide you with the best? Maybe when we think like this, we can make smarter choices, and I think it is always better for long term success to be thinking less about the weight we want/need to lose and more about what is good for our bodies. Now it's not simple....and we'll have to keep reminding ourselves....but eventually the good for us choices will happen more naturally like our rainbow eating.

I think a lot of us have that same problem. We just need to take things one day at a time. Your fitness minutes are wonderful. And a summer challenge? I'm intrigued.

I'm stuck, but still hanging in there. Wonderful that you're getting in so much fitness!

Me too! But I think you have more willpower than I do. I know you can do anything you set your mind to!

I'm thinking of a Summer challenge that is right up both our alleys...stay tuned!
