Do ypu think Dr's should yell at patients?

Friday, May 17, 2013

Horrible day. I went to see my dr (not for long after this visit) about a sinus infection and allergies. She prescribed an antibiotic (we'll see if this one cures me or makes me vomit or gives me horrible diarrehea like every other antibiotic in the past that she's given me). I told her my eyes were killing me so she suggested rewetting eyedrops. When I started to ask her for something for the pain meaning Morton 800 she YELLED at me (remember I had a horrible headache) that she could smell smoke on me and unroll I quite smoking I would be in pain. I was pissed off as hell (which causes me to cry) and yelled back that I'm trying to quite but it's hard with no patches, gum, or pills! Them she said "Well crying won't. Make your head feel better so stop it" . F@CK HER! I DONT GO TO THE DOCTORS TO BE YELLED AT! so now I sit here with s horrible headache, the liquid tears didn't help a bit. I'm taking 1200 Mg of advil. I can barely see. I've been alone inthe dark since two pm. And just typing this is kills. Needless yo say I will never see that f&cling witching with s CAPITAL C again.Meanwhile I am in tremendous pain
I hate doctors that aren't really doctors. This is the worst week of my life

Oh no, I'm sorry you had such an awful experience! I hope you feel better soon! You deserve to be comfortable, and doctors should help not hurt! *hugs*

Thank you everyone! I understood why she was so concerned about my smoking but she just could have gone about it in a different way rather than yelling in my face after I told her I had a splitting headache. On my own I've gone from a pack and a half to 10-12 cigs a day. Sometimes less sometimes (like this rotten week) a couple more. I've tried to go cold turkey but I break out in rashes and go a little nuts to the point where my MOM bought me a pack of cigarettes. But I'm going to try harder to cut down more. But needless to say she will no longer be my primary physician after that.

Well, perhaps he shouldn't have yelled...but he does realize how dreadful for your health that smoking is....in SO many different ways.

I quit smoking without anything to "soften the fall". I shook, I cried, I yelled and I suffered. It was allllllllllll worth it not to be addicted to those cancer sticks any longer...

Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon,
Sandi

There is no reason for a doctor to yell at any pt. You go to the doctor because you are sick!!!! I'm so sorry your doctor was so mean. I worked for a doctor for 24 yrs. and I had to teach him to listen to his pts. because they know their bodies better than anyone. He is an excellent doctor and I respect him so much. Just went to a doctor out here where I live now and he gave me meds for my eyes as well as for my allergies and I feel much better now. No drops just oral meds but they worked great. Hope you're feeling better soon or find a doctor who will help you!!!!!
