It has been a crazy busy week of work, family stuff, and working out! I have not done very well on my food this week. I am looking forward to the summer to get the food truly kick-started correctly. Two more weeks, and I am just going to do my best until then. I refuse to beat myself up over a couple of mistakes. So, I'm just starting fresh today, and I'm moving on. Especially because it has been a pretty successful week in the gym!!!
Yesterday, I finally made it to 4 solid weeks of aerobics class. I am quite proud of that achievement, and I am hoping that I can make it the next 4 full weeks before my instructor goes on vacation. I'm already dreading that week, but I have a plan in place and I will follow through with it.
Let's see here... Monday's workout was called "We Can Carry a Load" and it was arm and shoulder focused. There was some fun step stuff thrown in too. I love step. (It's my favorite.)
Tuesday's title was "Arms and Shoulders" which is self-explanatory. We did a lot of stuff with heavy weights, and we didn't do very much cardio. I was irritated at my lack of soreness from Monday, so I pushed HARD this class. It seems like we planked a lot, and I managed to do most of that. We did a lot of weight stuff that she had to correct me on, but I got it.
Wednesday's was "Jabba." This was my favorite class this week! We did some kickboxing. We used bender balls, and we focused on stomachs. I managed to do an exercise that was crazy hard, but well worth it. I had to balance on one ANKLE and my shoulder blades and stick my other foot into the air. It was nuts, and it pissed me off. But when I finally *got it,* it felt soooo good!!! We also did a lot of heel switching and went over the bench several times. I pretty much did *all* of this workout, (I missed a set of jump ropes because I forgot to put on my knee bands) and it felt amazing! I also was able to do seal walks, and they didn't even feel very difficult!!! Such an achievement for me!
Thursday's was "Kettle Up." We were all really tired by Thursday. Sometimes we sort of chill a bit on Thursday, and sometimes she pushes us past our limits. She was feeling pushy yesterday. We each used two kettles, and we did a lot of exercises for the stomach on the balls. We did a lot of squatting. My knees were sore from the week, so I did about 8 to Gina's 10. That's still a drastic improvement from 3 to her 10. I was able to knock out about 14 of the thing I could NOT get last week where I put my feet on the ball, hands on the ground, and crunch. Seeing as how last time we did it, she had to HOLD my ankles in place, I was pleased by it. We also used TALL benches. Last week I could only do about 3 repeaters on each leg. I was able to do about 12 on each side last night. And I did all of the ups and downs. So, the tall bench work improved too.
It really is amazing what a difference one week can make. :) I love it. And I feel so blessed to be on this journey with some really great friends and an amazing instructor.
