Today is my 16th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe 16 years have passed by. Seems like just yesterday we were getting ready for the wedding. I looked at the suit DH wore and chuckled because he is nowhere near to fitting into it anymore. Last year he accidentally put on the pants or I should say, tried to put on the pants and wondered why they didn't fit. (chuckle) I did find something sweet in the pocket of the jacket. The day of the wedding I gave DH a favor, a pink hair ribbon, and he put it up his sleeve for the wedding. I didn't know this at the time. He shared it with me on our honeymoon. Well, the ribbon is still in the suit. How romantic!!!
Every now and then he writes me a poem. He makes me laugh all the time. Sometimes we laugh at each other and other times we laugh at something going on. Our sense of humor is sick to say the least. I found my match in that. We laugh all the time even when things of the world are not going well. Every day we laugh a good belly laugh and that cheers us up.
I make it a point to tell him I love him every day. I never want something to happen where I wonder if he knew I loved him. I usually tell him I love him to infinity and beyond. Sometimes we make things up to describe how much we love each other. We try to outdo each other.
Where else would I find a husband that allowed me to have 8 cats all at once. We are now down to 6 and he shares in my deep sorrow when we lose one. We cry together and share the loss.
I listen to people who fight and are miserable in their marriage. Now I won't say we don't fight, but it is rare. We do sometimes hurt each others feelings but we are quick to forgive and the hurt is not done purposefully. We don't hold grudges.
My DH allows me my moods and sometimes he calls me out on it. He is slowly helping me with my weight loss journey and will correct me when I eat more than I should. I love him for it.
I wish everyone the happiness I have with my DH. May we have many more days of joy.
