Even horror films can have some great lines.
I was watching MAMA with Jessica Chastain & Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
{..not too bad...good actors...}
and there was a line that struck me ... enough to write it down.

"a ghost is an emotion bent out of shape,
condemmed to repeat itself time and time again,
until it rights a wrong that was done."

Now ... I don't believe in ghosts,
but I think that all too often, we keep conjuring up past hurt (or guilt) and
twisting things around and around in our heads...
until we become mummified in our bad memories.
We may never be able to completely right a wrong that was done.
The only way to break out of that...is to free our thoughts
and focus on the present and what we can do to make things better.

Still going strong with the veggies.
It's getting warmer and warmer...salad season will be here soon.
Plan on making lettuce wraps with fajita fillings.
My window sill herb garden is coming along.

have a fun weekend

I DO believe in ghosts as I was raised in a house that was haunted. I have had several experiences with them! (Nothing bad).
A fun thing to have a herb garden!! Thinking of doing one.

Always good to remember that the past is behind us. We should learn from it but not dwell on it. Keep Sparkin'

The very first thing that I did when i started this journey 20 months ago was a bought a notebook and every day for eighty days I gave back the awful things that had been done to me I forgave the people that had wronged me and I cried for those i alienated because i was to fat to be around in my mind. So yes I agree very much so that you need to deal with the past first before you can have success in the future. This is an awesome blog emoticon emoticon

  Hi Sheryl..........
You are absolutely correct. There is no greater waste of time and energy than living in the past and holding on to hurt. Letting go is not easy (I tend to hold a grudge because I am way too sensitive), but it is so freeing when I can successfully put the hurt aside. Great reminder..........
Have a good rest of the weekend.......

Many of us have terrible pasts with which we need to learn to cope, and it is the pragmatic approach that works for me.

I ask myself, "How exactly is this particular feeling (resentment, fear, anger, pain, whatever) helping me lose weight?" Once I've examined whatever pain rears its head and identified how it led me to the unhealthy way I was living before I decided to take care of myself, I dump that pain because it doesn't cause me to take one more step in exercise or lead me to choose healthy food over unhealthy food.

I let it go so that it does not become an excuse.

Thank you for posting the reminder that it is just as important to detoxify our hearts as it is to clean up our eating.
