Getting used to my changes

Friday, May 17, 2013

Had a great day yesterday. Took my youngest to school orientation they go for 2 hours while the parents are in the gym talking about the school. It is about a 10 block walk to the school I had him on my shoulders the whole way down. This walk I used to find hard however it was easy yesterday. He did great and it was nice talking to some of the teachers. They were telling me how great my daughter is doing getting ready for her play coming up. I used to volenteer there alot in past years. This year I scaled back my volenteering everywere. So Alot of staff were blown away when they say me and how much I have changed. On the walk down we past one mans house we have walked past his house to get to the school alot of the years. He was on the front step and comeneted " wow you lost alot of weight" I just smiled and said :thank you I did" lol.
So the changes I am getting used to. I just the size of me now. I wore a tshirt on wednesday that I did not think to much about till I took my chef jacket off at work. My co worker friend yelled at me. "Joe you can not wear that shirt anymore it is too big make rags or something with it" I looked in the mirror she was right is was like a night dress. I got home and put it in the rag bin.
The attention I have been getting is nice but last night I was flatered and taken back at the same time. I live right in the city and do alot of walking I like changing up my routes. Because I was always so big I have never been given any trouble anywere and can walk any part of the city with out problems. The weather is nicer now and it is staying light out later. I went to an area of my city that I do not walk usualy in the evening but in the winter I have been walking there because no one was around. Well last night as i walking. This cute blonde walked up to me. Hello cutie she said want a date. A big smile came across my face. I told her thank you but no and told her to have a great night.
I am 38 years old have lived in the city for 18 years and this is the first time a pretty lady of the evening aproched me. I was flattered told the story when i can home. Guess my body is changing lol

LOL! I love it! It's flattering to get noticed like that, but somewhat uncomfortable for me. Probably because I'm a woman. So way to go man!
