Today I stepped on the scale and was surprised to see the dial rest at "184". I was even HAPPIER to see the news on my Spark Homepage - according to the BMI, I am 29.8, which takes me OUT of the Obese category and into the Overweight category.

This is positively HUGE. I have been Obese (according to the BMI) probably 99% of my adult life; the only time I was not was a brief time in 2006 where I think I got as low as 183. (I doubt it lasted more than a month or two.)

I am just so excited! I've felt really great about my progress, but this one little thing, dipping into the Overweight category, makes me feel SUPER proud.

My goal is to get within the normal, healthy range, under my BMI of 25, which means less than 155 (I think - I can't remember now :P). My specific weight goal is 145 - within the normal range, but not TOO low. And now, it's a mere 39 pounds away. 39 pounds!! WOW!! I can't believe I'm over 2/3 of the way there!

Thank you to my wonderful SparkFriends (along with my family) for their unending support! You make this journey so much more fun and enjoyable :)

It sounds funny, but I too wish that I was overweight. Taken out of context, most people would find that sentence mortifying. Those of us who've been hanging out in obese land know the difference, and it's huge. You can be overweight, and perceived as a "normal" person. Once you get into the obese territory, it is common for people to start treating you as a "fat person," as though that made us a different species. Having ranged between 102 and 235 more than once in my adult life, I'm really looking forward to "normal" overweight, and, only if I can maintain it in a healthy way, "normal" "normal" would really be cool!

Congratulations. I finally got off my plateau of 3 weeks and am loosing again. It is a great feeling. Thankfully, I have a very supportive husband who is aiding and abetting me all the way. Even cooks. I hate doing the same thing over and over.
I know how happy you must be.
