Critical Thinking

Thursday, May 16, 2013

"Negative thinkers focus on obstacles, pitfalls and hazards. Positive thinkers focus on pathways, opportunities and possibilities. Critical thinkers consider negative thinking, positive thinking, and through the process of subtracting emotion from the equation, arrive at a more intelligent conclusion."
--Steve Siebold

Critical may also imply an effort to see a thing clearly and truly in order to judge it fairly.

I need to be able to see things clearly in order to change my actions or to give my actions direction. Being critical is can be a good thing that leads us to make the changes we need to make.

I am guessing that the toughest part of that equation is "subtracting the emotion". That is a tough one.

Ooooh....sounds like I will also need to leave the la-la land of denial!

This is very thought-provoking. Rational, objective thought, right?!

Seriously, thank you for making this so clear and compelling. It helps me today.
