In April I completed by 1st ever half marathon. It was in support of Parkinson's Disease. My Dad had Parkinson's for more than 15 years and now my brother has been diagnosed with it as well. There was a 5k and 2 mile walk in addition to the half marathon as part of the event. My family had 4 generations participating in the event.
I was very excited to do my first half marathon in honor of my Dad, brother and a friend that have all suffered from Parkinson's. The race was 12 days before my 50th birthday. So, I was also celebrating being in the best shape of my life at 50. I finished the race about 6 minutes faster than my goal time so I was very excited. The race went well and I felt good at the end. Now it's on to the rest of my "Fit & Fabulous at 50" goals.
