Day four soda free! Today I walked for two hours with a pace under 17 min/mile ~ 16.7! I always use to walk about 17.1 every time! I expect my new glasses tomorrow. My last Doctor visit my blood pressure was 125/87 down from 140/90. I have had heart disease in my family history so this was great news. I have been cutting down on salt in my nutrition. I use to have between 3,500 -4,000 mg per day. Now I am down to 2,000 - 2,700 every day! I think this will help with the blood pressure too. By the way, cutting out the diet pepsi helped a lot bringing the salt down! Win -win situation. Now I drink black ice tea and water! My weight at the Doctor visit was 152 down from 175, during my visit in January, which caused me to come back to SP! AND I am so glad I did! I have connected to so many positive and encouraging sparkers!

I am looking forward to my Aunt Jean and Uncle Ed's Golden Anniversary in Denver on June 1st! There should be about 80 friends and family at a three day bash! I go Friday May 31st through Sunday June 2nd. I am so looking forward to this vacation/celebration!

You, my friend, are your very own wise physician - and you have followed your own sage advice. I'll bet the doctor was thrilled with your progress! That is an OUTSTANDING drop in your blood pressure, and yes, sir, lowering sodium like that will help - as does the incredible exercise you do! Congratulations, too, on being so successful at lowering - even measuring! - your walking pace!!

    Congrats on the progress, I have a 12K coming up the fifth time for Bay to Breakers in SF. This sunday. Never thought I would look forward to doing an event when I started, but now it seems like a habit.... what's going on, LOL Really good to here your BP results and kicking the Soda to the curb, good riddance. I probably have less than a six pack of sodas all year, and I used to be a soda hound. Try some of that green tea and use a little natural honey with a little fresh lime. Its not bad.
