I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Spent over three hours working on the yard. Which included taking my little electric chainsaw and cutting down a couple of "volunteer" trees. It was a lot of heavy work, but I really enjoyed it. Sometimes I think I should have gone into physical labor.

I know exactly what you mean! There's nothing like really working hard and physically to make you feel like you've acomplished something. It is intoxicating!

LOL at the title of your blog! I felt the same in the garden yesterday. Good work with the volunteer trees--they seem to settle right in and hold on when you pull them out. But especially a good workout!

When I ran out of firewood in March I purchased an elec. chain saw and was able to keep my stove going during the day (I have a couple acres of woods on my property). Everyone had a fit, but I really enjoyed it. Even though there was a furnace back-up, the heat was cozier. Now am learning the art of rototilling with my little elec. tiller.

Good clean sweaty work. Oxymoronic, but satisfying. Kind of like when you get 5 loads of laundry done and the baskets are empty for at least.....5 minutes....
