Planning for Travel

First my weight loss ticker shows a jump to 28 pounds lost; I didnít lose 10+ pounds in one week. Instead I reset the ticker back to my original starting weight. I decided to track my entire journey, and I un-did my re-set. The re-set was making me feel as though I hadnít lost all that weight that I really did lose! emoticon

I am trying to do better about planning for business trips. I usually plan well for all the materials for my presentation, and packing clothes etc. But for food, it is challenging. My meeting tonight is from 5-8:30 p.m., and will be in a small town with limited food choices. So I am packing a healthy meal to take with me: Sliced chicken breast with pineapple habanera salsa, snow peas, and an apple. Maybe I wonít be able to eat the meal during the meeting Ė but maybe we will take a break so everyone can get food, or we will order pizza to be delivered. In any event I am prepared and am much less likely to pig out at 8:30 a.m. because Iím starving and the only place open is the steak house that serves giant plates of food appropriate to the small farming/ranching community.

I also discovered a fast food meal that I really like Ė Taco Bell Cantina bowl with chicken. Itís a big bowl of salad, scoop rice, scoop black beans, small scoop corn, dab of guacamole, and really good dressing. 560 calories, which is my usual dinner/lunch calorie budge.

For exercise tonight I have loaded 45 minutes worth of Zumba music onto my IPhone and I will be dancing in my motel room. Iím looking forward to it. emoticon

And for adequate sleep Ė well Iím not going to try and drive home after the meeting, I would arrive home too late for exercise and would have a 14+ hour work day. Iím staying in a nice motel. At their breakfast buffet, Iíll have fruit, raisin bran cereal and yogurt. Just say ďnoĒ to the waffle machine and biscuits and gravy!

Finally I had a nice NSV yesterday: two people I work with said " Hey, you've lost a LOT of weight!"

    What an amazing blog!! I love it!! ALL those preparations. So many people would just say, "well, it is just the trip. When I get home, I will start again" but not you! emoticon emoticon
