Day 17

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

OK I am still on my plateau! My first 8 days went great! I lost those 5 pounds! So tomorrow - I am going to change up my breakfast a bit - to just have fruit! My lunch is under a 100 calories - salad.

I have school tomorrow - I will make sure I take my Fiber One protein bar - which is 130 calories. All I have been drinking is water and tea. No juice this week. Maybe it will all catch up to me in time for weekly weigh in!

I mowed grass again today for 60 minutes and my plan is to strength train again while watching TV.

Dad is being released today and going to REHAB - surprise! The social worker called me and told me the dr was upset about them only considering his walking and not his COPD as a factor - so he is going!

For the first time in 5 years - dad will be in rehab 3 miles from me - mom is now in Yale - and there is no sense in dad being down in the city close to my sister - who is only out here 2 - 3 times a month. I am his main care taker - and so is mom, might as well make it easier on us for once!

We will be looking into long term care for him, as he cannot take care of even minor things for himself any more. I am sad to see to my dad deteriorate so much - but I will feel better knowing that he will no longer be able to overdose himself with his albuterol.

From my experiences with TOPS and Weight Watchers over the years, it sounds like you might be eating too little. I've seen people sticking strictly to their 1200 calories per day and not being able to lose anything, then they upped it slightly by adding a handful of nuts or a couple of slices of avocado or a bit of guacamole or nut butter.... just one additional serving of healthy fats per day.... and BOOM! They'd start dropping a couple of pounds per week again! Might be something worth considering.

So happy to hear that your dad will be getting the appropriate care that he needs!

Mowing is hard work! Good job and the workout, but make sure to eat to lose, if you know what I mean. And I truly hope your dad gets better, or at least feels better. I have an elderly mother with some of the same issues. Take care! emoticon

Keep up the great work. Just remember, not to eat too little or else, the weight won't come off at that point either. emoticon
