Really tired tonight

But its a nice kind of tired. I listened to a "lecture" yesterday about exercise and fat burning. Some of the things they mentioned were that when we are working out and we reach that stage where we feel we just want to stop...push for even just 1-2 more of whatever you are doing, because that is when its tapping into your fat cells for energy.

Also when we arrive at boot camp we always keep our jackets on till we are warmed up, but the cold shivering is actually fat burning. Take our jackets off the moment we start the warm ups for maximum benefit. Who knew?

So this morning at boot camp I tried just that. Today we spent quite some time dribbling soccer balls (each had our own) around a soccer field. Fist kick and slow run to the ball, then kick again and sprint to the ball....yikes this fat old body is not meant for sprinting...lol but I did it and whats more I put my heart and soul into it. Every exercise we did, I pushed for 2 more every time I reached the "I cannnnnt anyyyymore" stage.
The result is ..... fatigue. Fatigue for a great reason.

At the lecture this giant sign was at the back of the trainer.


They had bunches of signs all over the hall which were cute and encouraging. The funny part was, the signs were each attached to the back of a chair and you got to pick which one you sat at. I don't know if there was some psychology behind it or just for fun???

Remember I told you about how close a Hyrax or commonly known in South Africa as a rock rabbit allowed me to get to it before running away, my friend sent me the photo's today.


I was looking everywhere but at the little guy in the hopes of fooling him that I wasn't creeping up to him....he wasn't as stupid as I thought. When I stretched out my hand, he jumped off the wall and ran a few steps away. I wish I had thought to take some bread for them because I subsequently heard that they eat out of your hand if you have food.
That will have to be for the next time.

It's Wednesday and I have had a good week again....yes I know its only part way through the week.....but I'm still going strong and still very determined and motivated.
These are some slogans to keep me on track.






The ladies at boot camp told our trainer about my being entered for a weight loss challenge to win a cruise. He recommends that I come to boot camp 5 days a week for those 3 months especially as the winter special which my son paid for is for 5 days a week. I was just going to keep going for 3 days a week which because it worked out cheaper buying the winter special package than paying for each month separately. He feels confident that I can make it.......I don't feel as confident. But his reasoning is that even if I do 2 half effort training on the other 2 days.....it all adds up.

So I'm going to bed with lots to think about....should I.....shouldn't I....should I.....shouldn't I.

Truth is, if I go, I can always stop. So maybe I should try....maybe I'm fitter than I think...nah not really LOL

    You are doing so well! Maybe do the 5 days for one week and see if you like it, if you don't continue with the 3 days. Keep it up you are doing great!

    It will be interesting to see what you choose. 5 days of the wk. is like a full time job. If it is only for several hrs. of the day that is not too bad but like you say you can cut back if need be. If, if, if????????

    Very interesting info. I tried to push myself today during my workout too. I have been trying to make sure I don't "over do" it because I want to be able to continue so I can finish my boot camp. I figure I am going to keep pushing otherwise, I won't get stronger, fitter, etc.

I really love your determination. I keep thinking that if you can push yourself, then I can too. Thank you for your "Can DO!" attitude. It is really a great motivator for me.

    Sometimes the extra push is worth it. If I could find a way to do bootcamp 5 days a week I'm sure I would love it. Bootcamp classes are my favourite. They just don't fit in my budget though! emoticon

    Listen to the trainer...they know what they are talking about and you can ask for adjusted advice later on if you are finding it isn't working well...you can do it!!! I Love the first image!!!
