new adventures

so i wrote on my status update: waiting for the weekend.

why cant i just be excited for everyday? everyday should be an adventure. i know, i know. when you get into that rut of working and making dinner and cleaning, and working and cleaning, and working and cleaning.

i need to chill out and get excited about life. get excited about the nice weather we are having. get motivated to walk different places. maybe get a bike.

the one problem i have is my husband will not bike with me. he doesnt even like to go different places and walk. he says its boring. i am gonna have to go myself since he wont go with me. thats ok. i can make it an adventure by myself.

so, i am starting fresh and am gonna find things to excite me and keep life interesting.

lets share some ideas to keep fitness interesting!!!

    i do most of my walk alone yoiu can do this. think of it as me time.

    I usually walk alone or with my dog. I'm a slow walker and need to stop frequently. I sometimes walk with SPHAPPYHIKER (she lives in Wadsworth) and she's usually a fast walker - but we work it out. I rest, she goes on and then backtracks (added steps) and then we walk and talk a while. Do we live to far apart to meet and walk every once in a while. I know there's a nice park in Green.

    You can do it. My husband and I used to be very active together, but he has been feeling so bad for so long and is currently undergoing cancer treatment among other things so I've had to adjust to biking, walking, etc. alone. Once I made the decision to not give up I have come to enjoy the outings although I will relish the time when he can go with me. I hope you come to that time too and maybe your hubby will change his feelings too.

    Don't feel bad and don't let this get between you two either! My dh doesn't like to exercise with me, but we share so much more. He does cheer me on when I've had lots of cardio minutes in a day or do real well at a new ST exercise. So that's encouraging! Maybe he can be your cheerleader!!! emoticon

    This is my journey,i try to have the mentality to do it alone,i once depended on my hubby,most of the times he is tired . . . i have learned to do my work outs with or without anybody and i have moved forward.

    I always look for new challenges to KEEP me in the healthy lifestyle I'm now accustomed to!

    I'll always have a formal 5K or any "competition" to train for. I'm focused on Triathlon training at the moment. I'm biking, swimming, and running which equates to overall fitness!

    Strength training is vital to any activity.

    FUELING is most important. I burn clean fuel. I choose my food for it's energy levels and healthy content. I'm not going to do well with a box of donuts. If I'm dragging, I know I ate something bad for me! It also means all the energy I exerted was for naught!

    Good attitude as sometimes, we have to go it alone as it is an individual journey. You may want to find the things that brought you together and get him out more, if you'd like for him to join you. Don't let it stop you as you are more than a conqueror!
