I've come to the awful conclusion that my biggest waste of time is, in fact, time wasted complaining. I've started the Spark Solution program and am on Day 3. Being a yo-yo dieter for all my adult life, and zooming from physically fit to unfit, I am now a middle-aged woman who is 60 pounds overweight and sedentary.
So, after moving to the 1200-1300 calorie plan on Monday, and getting on the elliptical machine for the first time in oh, let's say two years, my system is in shock. And I have been complaining vociferously about it! Hungry! Tired! Hungry! Sore muscles! Hungry!
My husband very gently pointed out this morning, as I was complaining again, that I'm complaining a lot. I of course snapped my mouth shut for a moment, after which I claimed (in not a nice tone) that I would not complain again. He just hugged me (God bless him).
Now, a few hours later, I realize that he's right. This move to the Spark Choice program was my decision, for my own long-term benefit to be healthy, feel good and look a lot better than I do in my plus-size clothes. So time spent complaining, when in fact what I -- and all SparkPeople are doing -- are doing is investing time, care and attention in ourselves and well-being -- is a huge waste. Taking these actions is something to celebrate about, not complain about.
