Luncheon for a Friend

When I first joined my church, I was immediately drawn to a friendly lady in her 80s. She was always cheerful and full of spunk. As I got to know her, I found out that she was constantly doing for others, thinking of others, and generally doing good works. A couple months ago, she was in church as usual, being her usual cheerful self. Eight days later she was gone. Cancer had taken her that quickly.

Today the city in which my church resides is having a luncheon where she will be honored. There's a bunch of us from church that will attend. She has spurred me on to be more like her - to be cheerful to all and to do all I can for others. She is truly missed.

    Nice they are showing her such respect... I know when I went to that church in AB, I met a lady who was 92 and another who was 89 - amazing ladies, both of them I wish I had ladies like that in my life, we need the role models...
