Thought and Prayer for Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Games have been around forever. Back in the day, there was marbles, hop scotch, gin rummy, go fish. There were all types of games both children and adults played to relax after a long day or just to have fun with others. However, games have become more popular and more common since the Internet. Often we spend hours every day sitting and playing games trying to reach the next level. Whether it is for an hour or three hours, we need to be sure we donít get obsessed with games rather than doing what God wants us to do.

Ecclesiastes 11:6 ďPlant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you donít know if profit will come from one activity or anotheróor maybe both.Ē (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know You put us here for a reason but we also know You want us to have fun. Help us to know when to work and when to play. Help us not to get so obsessed with games that we forget about You and our reason for living. Keep us to keep busy doing Your will rather than playing those mindless games day after day and not getting anything done. There is so much we can do for others. Show us today what we can do to replace our game time. Show us what we can do to go to the next level in our lives for You rather than a mindless game. We want to do Your will and worship only You. In Jesusí name. Amen.

There is a time for work and a time for play. Letís not spend too much time in either.

God wants us to have fun but He also wants us to work His plan for Him.

If we donít know if we are wasting time by spending more time doing one particular things, God can show us what we need to change.

Knowing that there are things we do that keep us from doing Godís will is why we need to stop doing them.

When we commit our actions, all day, to God, He will show us what we need to be doing to succeed.

Proverbs 16:3 ďCommit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.Ē (NLT)
