Have to Add an Explanation to Yesterday's Blog

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

I just realized by the comments that yesterday's blog sounded a bit negative. What I meant about starting over is starting over the count of number of days that I stay within my calorie count and get at least 1/2 hour of exercise. For me, the longer I stay within these guidelines the faster my snowball rolls downhill. It is just a personal count that I have kind of copied from Pixie.

But I can see how it would seem like a perfectionist sort of behavior, so I am rethinking this whole thing. I have given up getting on the scale to measure my wins. (Another one I contribute to Pixie). I am much more aware of the NSV being important for me as a measure of how well I am doing.

So let me rephrase this. I am restarting my count of days that I have met my goals in a row. Now that sounds better. Not starting over, just starting that count over. Thanks so much for all of your positive comments and your empathy and support. I truly appreciate the feedback and it is great to hear how other people work on their journey.

emoticon nods, i had to put mine away... it was in dire jeopardy of malfunction! bahahawaaaahaaaaaa..... ;)

i would share, (feel free to disregard), that trying to count straight days does give me an angst feeling... i did better with tossing a pretty stone/marble in a jar or sparkly sticker on a calendar & watching them grow..... (no goal for consecutive days, at first my goals was just a good day instead of a bad day, then more good then bad, then... well, i arrived back at how's today & getting my sparkly sticker... i am all for whatever works for each of us & helps us feel that bubbly sense of enthusiasm :)

OOOOH I get it. You are re-starting your streak. Sorry, I misunderstood you the first time. All I know is, you have done really great and I am glad you aren't beating up on yourself.

Resetting, not it. Way to go! I had a similar declaration recently. It's often hard to convey everything we're thinking in a blog. I love resetting...or whatever you want to call it. It's a thoughtful and deliberate focus on making you the best you can be.

Way to go! Best of luck on your new streak!
