leaving Spark People

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Since I joined SP many years ago I have lost and gained and lost and gained the same weight over and over. I did the same thing when I went to Weight Watchers. The gains always started when I decided I could handle it on my own , or I got too busy to check in. With WW I maintained for 5 years and attended a meeting a month for weigh was great. Then a friend thought we should start our own diet club , just she and I and throw $10 in a can each week at weigh in. Well we saved enough money to take our horses to a riding camp in the summer but eventually we both gained weight.
Then there came SP. I was so very faithful in the winter and early spring and then I'd get called back to work. I been a seasonal worker for years. When work started I stopped checking in with my Sparks buddies and poof..I grew again by I'm here to say..I ain't leavin" this time! I may not have the umph to exercise or track everyday but I am going to keep up with as much as I can and keep weighing in.

I really enjoy the chats and cheering on and trying to help anyone who needs it. Yeah Sparks!

I pretty much decided I am never leaving. When I leave I gain, period. There may be times when my community involvement will be less but I will continue to make tracking nutrition and exercise my norm. According to the National Weight Control Registry tracking is not just one of the biggest factors for loss, it is one of the biggest factors for maintenance. Since I plan to not only lose but maintain, I'll need Sparkpeople for that. 28 pounds to go! emoticon

    whew!! I was worried also!!

Lifestyle changes is what it is all about. If we don't just make new habits, we slip back into the old. I know too much now to let that happen.... I think so anyways.

But that doesnt mean weight loss is easy. Doing the right thing day after day, is slow & hard enough. I had to try something a little more strict, so I could start seeing results again. Same foods as before, but with more strategy & purpose.

So far so good!!

Good for you! My weight is up & down too Spark or no spark. I just figure that it's still nice to know that others are going through similar experiences regardless if I am making progress or not.
