For the For The Love of Horror team challend to make May mine, I have done fairly well.
My goals are:
1) track every day, and be below my target is 6/7 days
2) 3 workouts from the New Rules of Lifting
3) 2 cardio sessions a week
4) 8 glasses of water a day
Days in a row: 11. I am pretty impressed with myself. I have been doing pretty fair, but had to bust my butt yesterday in the gym to end up on the negative at the end of the day. But, overall, I am pleased with the way the I am staying on track.
That said, my goal is to lose 6 lbs. I am nowhere near that. I have been losing about 0.2 lbs a week thus far, and it is driving me crazy. I know a loss is a loss is a loss, but I really thought I was doing better. I know I have made some poor food choices, so hopefully this week I can get my clean foods up, and delicious but bad for me foods a little less.
The main reason I want to get down on my weight is to be able to get back to my military self. Part of that is getting my run time of the 1.5 miles down to around 17 minutes. This is where I am:
Not bad, but not great. My goal is to keep up that pace, and then next week try to kick it up a notch, and keep going until I hit my goal. I could have probably pushed a tad harder, but I don't want to get hurt. I just want to get to where I need to go.
And, finally, the puppy updates. Yadi is still being a dink. Its perhaps not as bad as it was, but it is still a lot of growls and snarls. I know its only been a month, but I was really hoping the two of them would have started getting along better. We are babysitting my parents dog Ziggy- and him and Winter aren't getting along either. It all comes down to the fact that she can't hear the dog cues of "back up, I'm annoyed". We have our house semi-divided now to try to keep bigger/grumpy dogs away from Winter. *sigh* its just not working as well as I would have hoped.
That said, Winter, the cats, and Willow are getting a long great. They play, they lay by each other- its going really good. Willow is getting her exercise and being a good older sister in helping her learn how to be a normal dog. We are still having issues with peeing in the house, but we can't yell at her to stop when she starts...makes it tricky. But, thankfully, pooping incidents are becoming a lot less common. We have also decided her vision isn't as good as we initially thought. She can't really recognize us until she catches our scent (then its ears back and wiggles). We also can't do stairs..so that is going to be a challenge. I think it all has to do with her depth perception with her one eye with not great vision. The whole world has to be scary for her, and it makes me scared for her. Brian wants us to be confident around her, but its so hard for me to be confident when I am so worried she could get hurt or nipped or something. But, otherwise my girls seem to be getting along great.
Hope everyone is having a decent start to their week.
