Don't want to fall off again!

After having a stomach virus last week I felt all better by Saturday. Taking it easy on the food intact keeping it mild. Made gluten free pancake Mac muffins Sunday morning, then when to Big Lots for a few things for the grandkids to give their mom since their dad is out of town still. Came home and was hungry so hubby made a fresh juice while I gathered the gifts and craft supplies for the grandkids. The drink was refreshing. But within 20 minutes I knew something was wrong. Here come those stomach cramps that grew more painful at an alarming rate. Well it took six hours for that pain to work its way through me and I was hungry again but felt like I'd been pressure washed internally. The pain was so bad I couldn't even scream I could feel my eyes bugging out with the pain. Hubby took all the stuff over and I missed seeing the grandkids again. Funny thing is he didn't get sick. So we don't know what is going on is it something I am eating is it the virus? Stomach viruses are only suppose to last a day or two, this is a week. Do I keep getting reinfected? Is it in the car? Is hubby bringing it home? Being celiac I'm well aware of horrible intestinal woes and this was one of the worst.
Having said all that, this is when I fall off the fitness wagon. Yesterday I just laid around to recoup. This is day two without a juice. I'm terrified to drink another one and go through that pain again. I have to get up and exercise today, I'm afraid if I don't that old pattern of one day becomes two becomes a week becomes a month...

    I think after a week of pain it may be a great idea to get it checked out. Why go through pain when you may not have to? I hope somehow this works it self out by its own! But maybe a check up would help. You are looking at everything and new eyes may help! I hope you will get back on track.

    I think you should see a doctor before you get too far down a path that is difficult to recover from. Something sure isn't right!

    It sounds like you need to let your body try to take care of whatever it is you have going on and maybe go easy on the exercise for a while until you're feeling yourself again. It is possible that you have a food borne illness from one of the many superbugs that are lurking in our foods now. 81% of ground turkey is infected with them, 69% pork chops, 55% ground beef & 39 % various chicken pieces. The link below has info from the gov't study published in February this year:

    I wash my veggies with soap & water or I soak them in a vinegar & water bath for an hour to help kill stuff and wash off residue from who knows where. Everyone thinks I 'm a nut washing my produce but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

    Whatever you have going on, whether its norovirus or contaminated food (which could still be norovirus) I hope you are over it soon!!!

    May be you were still not over your other virus and it relapsed? don't give up and get right back on track when you can. Lucinda

    I hope that you start feeling better soon. Where is your tummy cramping? Down low or up high? Does Celiac usually make you feel that way? If it continues, you might want to call your doctor. Until then, baby your tummy. Juice is probably upsetting it because it is so acidic. Try hot teas instead.
