New Orleans Re-Cap

I got back from New Orleans late last Thursday. I had a great time. I didn't do great in terms of diet but there were some positives. I walked a lot! I was sore each night when I got back and I think that was a good thing. I also ate a lot of sea food....but a lot of it was fried or in butter. I did get to a local market to get some healthy stuff for breakfasts (i.e. yogurt, nuts, fruit) so that was a win. I also did a lot of drinking which was not great.
Here are some of my meals:
crab claws and alligator jambalaya
Seafood dish with oysters, shrimp, crayfish and scallops and rice and veggies
Shrimp and fried green tomato po boy, greens and grits. I couldn't eat all of it and wasn't a fan of the greens but I had to try it.
So, overall I had a really good time and didn't want to leave. I met a lot of great people, got to be in the nice weather and experience the 'south'.
Eating was hard. I could have done better and limited my alcohol intake but I felt this entitlement being on vacation. I learned some skills for next time but I also want to enjoy myself. I would also like to say that I jumped right back into it after getting back but I didn't. Friday I ordered Chinese food and ate it the rest of the weekend. Sunday I finally got back into the swing of things and today has been good too. I'm a bit worried about how much I've set myself back but I'm committed to pushing forward.
I have a couple other updates but I'll save them for later. Happy (sort of) to be back but really glad I'm back to eating healthy.
