+ let's start with the accomplishments!!
+ this morning, i rode 10K on my bike, the longest ride i've done yet this season. the wind was super strong, in my face, for most of the trip, and i chose a route that has more hills on it than usual. it also included some busy streets. when i got back home, my legs felt like jello!! but, i did it! i hope to work up to 15K over the next month or so. i need to start plotting out that route.
+ last week, i biked 6 days in a row, totalling 31.5K. some were with the kids, so slower than my usual pace, and some were solo. i've been forcing myself to bike on some busy roads, so that i can become more comfortable with them. it opens up my route options quite a bit if i can bike on busy roads, even for just a little bit. i'm very fortunate that my city has many bike lanes (though cars don't always respect your space, bike lane or not).
+ i feel like i'm almost ready to move on to w8d1 of c25k. i'm going to see if i can nail w7d3 again on wed, and if i can, i'll move on to w8 on fri... almost done the program! i feel like i *could* run the whole 30 mins, even if i dropped my pace for the last 5. but i will follow the program :D when i'm done, i've decided that i will start it again, but focus more on speed.. so i'll do w1 intervals, but much faster. i'll probably keep the once a week long run, so that i don't totally lose my mental state there
+ big accomplishment of the day... i have 2/3rds of my bday cake just sitting in the fridge, and i haven't touched it all day long (in previous years, it would have been breakfast!). i've decided that i will have a piece after supper tonight, and then i'm giving away the rest. i can't live with that much temptation!
okay, so the setbacks:
+ food, food, food. i haven't completely pulled it together since last thurs/fri. my weekend wasn't great, food wise. it was my birthday (hello, 35!!), and also mother's day, and there was cake, etc. my meals weren't stellar either. tonight, we are going out to a restaurant (for my bday).. the first time in about 6 weeks! i need to make some good choices, and get back on track for the rest of the week.
+ i didn't do a single minute of exercise over the weekend. i was planning on taking sunday off, but i wanted to get in a strength training on sat. it never happened.
+ i was going to c25k today, but after my jello legs bike ride, i couldn't do it. i did run 15 mins out of 30 though, so that's something.
... and looking forward...
+ tomorrow, i start my second week of NRFL4W. it's workout A again, and i'm increasing my weights on most exercises.
+ i have almost 2 months exactly until the Dirty Dash. i will be so proud of myself if i can run the whole thing :D
