So So Today

Monday, May 13, 2013

Yesterday was a wonderful, quiet and enjoyable day. Just spent it at home with the kids and DH. Watched movies, hung outside with the dogs and didn't do any work. Didn't do any exercise either as my back has been really hurting since the epidural. Then I rode JC Saturday and it got even worse.

Today, my back is pretty bad. The doc who did the epidural said that there was disc degeneration lower in my back and, if I came back for a second one, he would want to go lower. Not only is my back bad, I ate something that set off my Ulcerative Colitis. Not sure what it was.

I am going to take it pretty easy today and just do simple exercises like walking the dog. I don't want to push it too much with my back the way it is. I am waiting for a call back from the nurse. I am hoping to get the second epidural next week and maybe they can get this part of my back.

Why is it whenever you get in a rhythm with exercise, some part of your body fails you? UGH!

Hum.... "Why is it whenever you get in a rhythm with exercise, some part of your body fails you? UGH!"

I've noticed this too. Seems like just when you decide to have a fresh salad everyday for lunch there an E. coli outbreak and all the salad bags get recalled.

I bet your dog is happy though!

Sorry to hear that your back is bothering you. Did you get the epidural in your back? I thought it was in the neck area. I hope you feel better. emoticon

So sorry you are having these problems, Nina. Hopefully they will be better soon. Are the dogs getting along well? Riding JC may not have been a good idea with your back bothering you! emoticon

It's easy to get discouraged especially when you don't feel good or just plain hurt. Remember though if you can't change the circumstance, then try at least to change your attitude about it. While today isn't the best day, things could be worse. Maybe this is a good time to step back and reevaluate your goals, modify your attempts at exercise and give your body some rest. Take it easy for a few days and see if things begin to feel better. Good Luck! I'm hoping you'll be back in the saddle again soon!
