In-Laws Visited

Monday, May 13, 2013

My in-laws came into town last Thursday and stayed through the weekend. They are great, and it was a nice visit, but still pretty stressful. It was a bit hard to stay on plan over the weekend.

We went out on Saturday to a vineyard, where we did some wine tasting (not on plan, but delicious, and I kept my tastes pretty moderately sized), and we went to lunch afterward. The hubby's step-dad wanted a simple burger and fries type place, so we ended up going somewhere where all they had was burgers and fries. Hence my Saturday lunch was not particularly lean and green. (I'll admit I felt a bit queasy afterwards, so I just did MF meals the rest of the day).

Sunday was both Mother's Day and my Birthday, so I pretty much gave up being perfectly on plan, but not on eating healthy. For brunch we had scrambled egg pies with oven roasted potatoes and a piece of bacon. I did my MF meals for lunch and snack times, and then my birthday dinner was a lean and green meal, but with some deliciously marinated steak for my protein.

All in all, while I wasn't perfectly on plan, I think I did alright, and we were pretty active this weekend to help compensate. And the number on the scale has been going down again this week (after last week's non-movement), so I should still weigh in with a loss tomorrow.
