Flexibility and Forgiveness

Two big "F" words today...and while I'm so busy right now, at work and at home, that I would like to use THE "F" word, I shall refrain.
Today I'm focusing on two other "F" words: Flexibility and Forgiveness.
Flexibility is a big one right now. At home, things are crazy. I'm a divorced mom of 3 kiddos. I can't say "single" mom because that infers that I don't really have any help from dad, and he is, in fact, a huge help. But just because I'm a "mom," the big things normally fall on my shoulders rather than dad's because that's just the way it is with us, as I suspect it may be in many other relationships, even married.
"Mom, I need a dress for sports banquet. Oh, it's tomorrow."
"Mom, you've got to fill out this packet of 128 pages before I leave for school this morning." (tiny exaggeration)
"Mom, I have a school project due this week, and I need you to spend your entire Mother's Day helping me paint 45 rocks to sell at our school Market Days." (no exaggeration)
All. Day. Long.
So, flexibility is key. Not only at home, but at work as well. I have a very busy job as assistant to the CEO of a company and let me tell you, that man keeps me on my toes.
All. Day. Long.
With the exception of a few slip ups over the weekend...had a couple of margaritas with the BFF, and ordered something way outside the diet plan at lunch with my youngest daughter on Mother's Day...well, aside from those, I'm pretty proud of myself and how I've been eating. As a matter of fact, as of Saturday I had lost 5 pounds. I'm sure 2 or so might have crept back on after my slip ups, but I will wait till later this week to check the weight again.
As for forgiveness, the other "F" word, that's for myself. I forgive myself for not blogging every day as I had hoped I would be able to do. I can see that my life is just not going to allow that. I really enjoy writing things down, and when I can I will...both successes and slip ups...but it will not be every day.
Onward and forward!! Happy Late Mom's Day to the rest of you out there!
