Day 1 of the Rest of my Life

Today is day 1 of the Spark Solution Challenge aka day 1 of the rest of my life! Friday I did my shopping, Sunday I prepped some things. Where I live I can't follow the meal plan exactly because I can't get the ingredients. I will be making a lot of substitutions but I will still be better off than I was. My plan this time is to make small changes, two small changes a week while increasing my fruits and veggies. No eliminating whole groups or items, just limiting unhealthy choices while increasing healthy ones. Here are my planned changes for this week:

1. No large jugs of chocolate milk - I've been drinking about 2 gallons (YEP 2 GALLONS!!!) of chocolate milk a WEEK! I haven't even been using a cup, I just drink right out of the jug! emoticon Not any more! If I want chocolate I can buy a chocolate bar, if I REALLY NEED chocolate milk I can buy a small carton instead.
2. 10 minutes of fitness per day - I'm not sure why I find this so hard, probably just because I'm not used to it. My average work week is 4 days, I leave for work at about 8:20 am and I'm home by 4:00 pm. I go to bed around 9 pm. That leaves me 5 hours on work days and 13 hours on my days off. That's 300 minutes on work days, 780 minutes on days off. Somehow I can't seem to spend 10 minutes on fitness.... that's insane! Starting today I will focus for 10 minutes on fitness. It's not a lot to ask of my mind or my body lol.

On top of those two goals I also want to drink more water and track my food. These two are not my main goals but will help me overall. It only takes 5 minutes to track my food and I can do that while watching TV lol.

As long as today is better than yesterday I will be one step ahead. If tomorrow is better than today, I'm two steps ahead. One small step at a time, it's not going to be easy, I'm going to have to face fears, cravings, challenges, but I will get there. If this time next year I am eating better, working out daily, I will be overjoyed. But for now I will focus on today.

    Good Plan. One day at a time. Just don't lose focus. You are doing great.
    By next week, exercise 20 min./day; divide it into two 10 min. segments. Eventually, 3 - 10 min./segments. 10 in the morning, 10 (like a walk) right after lunch, and 10 when you get home. When I first started to exercise/walk, years ago, I found that I can't sit down when getting home from work - just put your sneaks on and get out the door. No time to think otherwise.
