Grocery Shopping

Monday, May 13, 2013

Wow! I am starting the 2 week Spark Solution eating and exercise plan today so I had to stock up on the healthy food items yesterday (Happy Mom's Day to me, lol). I about killed my back but I think it's going to be worth it. I printed off the 2 week grocery list and hit the store. I was super intimidated when my cart kept filling and filling with all the fresh produce and seeing I still had a huge list left to go. I didn't think I would be able to get everything for the first week in one shopping trip and I really wanted to be completely prepared when this morning came. As I went through the list of grains and pantry items though I realized I already had most of that stuff at home! Phew! A lot of the protein listed was already at home too. That made me feel really good about myself. Since I already knew we didn't eat enough fresh produce at home it was no surprise that I needed just about everything in that section of the list.

As I watched this morning's video 'lesson' from Chef Meg (she was talking about shopping the perimeter of the store and only hitting the middle for specific items), I realized that is exactly what I did yesterday vs. all the rest of my shopping trips to the grocery store. I spend very little time in the produce section and most of my time in the boxed/canned/frozen section typically.

I am really looking forward to this change and I'm excited to see what difference it's going to make in how I feel AND look :D SparkCheers to y'all. Today is the perfect day for a fresh start! ACCOUNTABILITY!!!

Sorry if this post is kinda random, I type how my brain thinks. And I usually think pretty randomly :D
