Accomplishments

Today's challenge is to write down three accomplishments I am proud of - to dwell on the positive. There are quite a few things I am proud of that I have accomplished in my life in general: educational goals, wonderful children. I will list more recent things:
1 - I have consistently stayed with my healthy lifestyle for over four months
2 - I have lost 36 pounds
3 - I am starting to get my home filing and bookkeeping in order. I am working towards "decluttering" my life.

5-20-13: When SparkPeople website was down one day last week, I almost panicked. How could I track my dinner? I knew what was reasonable and wrote down what I ate. The next morning, I was able to enter my food and I did well on my own. I stayed within range. Yeah me!!! ...but tracking is something I won't give up. It is a GREAT tool. I am now 38 pounds lighter.

6-21-13: During the first week in June, when I was at my daughter's house due to the death of my grandson, I didn't track, or weigh and measure my food. I didn't eat on a time schedule, either. Food was everywhere. There were all kinds of choices I knew I needed to leave alone. I am happy that I was wise with my choices. I made an effort to eye-ball my portions and eat what I thought I should (most of the time). I ate a few things that I should not have, but when I weighed myself at the end of that week, I was glad to see that I had not lost any weight...but I had not gained any either. I had maintained. The following week, my daughter and family came and stayed with us. It was a chaotic week, with so many extra people in the house. We also had Vacation Bible School at our church. I was in charge of music. Again, I was too busy to track, weigh and measure very much...and I managed through as I had the previous week...with the same result...no loss...no gain. I guess this is a glimpse of what maintenance is like. I know that I can never again not pay attention to what I eat, but I see this new change in me as something that is do-able. I can lose this weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I am very excited about that.

I am putting "DeClutter" my world as my #1 priority. I believe everything else will fall into place with that goal met.
