What a Week

This week has been... well, quite a week.

Lots of family events between my brother's graduation and Mother's day, not enough sleep, celebrating Sean's birthday... it's been one thing after another without enough time to really focus on me, especially after last weekend's rockiness. On top of it all, the usual bloating and discomfort of TOM has been unpleasant at best, and left me kind of dragging.

On the up side, I've stuck to eating what I'm supposed to. I'm not a fan of eating out, because I never know what people add to or season things with in restaurants, but I tried to do my best to stick to a low-carb plan - bunless burgers, lobster with drawn butter, salads or steamed veggies... I did what I could. I did try to add in berries today, but I'm not sure that agreed with me too well, so I might need to pull that back.

I've not made it to the gym this week, but I've gotten in walking, yoga, and some of those boot camp workouts! Being unable to make it to the gym this week, it was definitely good week for that challenge.

All in all, I hope this coming week can kind of go back to normal. I'm a creature of habit, to be sure, and too much change in my routine all at once always just throws me for a loop. In terms of the measureables - minutes of exercise, food intake, pounds lost, even - I've done well, but mentally, I just feel unmoored.

Here's to getting back on solid ground this week!

    sometimes we need to stop and take a breath...I feel like that a lot. Sounds like you are really keeping things in perspective, despite a busy schedule. Keep it up!

    I know how you feel. Last week was my week for feeling "unmoored". I like that phrase, I'm going to have to borrow it more often. :)

I don't deal with changes in routine, either. I hope your Week 5 goes much more smoothly.

Thanks for your comment on my blog and support. I don't know what my body is doing. To be honest, I was nearly in tears when I saw the scale this morning. I thought I had passed numbers like that behind long ago. The only thing that perked me up was when I put on my gardening clothes, F said he thought I looked skinnier from last week. Here's to hoping my measurements will give me some much needed hope this week! And, in the meantime, I'll see if I can figure out what to do with my diet next. I still want to try low carb, but the logistics have been awkward. I would also like to try to go gluten free for awhile, but again, difficult logistics. I would really like to see what benefits, if any, I could get from both.

  Sounds lilke a lot.... maybe you should start with little goals again and get on track. Sometimes I wish I had some support because I try my hardest to push myself hard and never have time for me and I think that's how I gained the weight but. Spring is here lots of things and events to do.. So just start a little planner and then go big again.
