Happiness is a Mudder's Day gift.

Sunday, May 12, 2013

My husband told me a couple weeks ago that his sister asked what I would like for a Mother's Day gift.

Disregarding the fact that, not being her mother, I don't know why she would get me anything... I told him I could use some dirt. Well, I found out yesterday that he never told them about my request.

But today, when I got home, I found out that he did tell his co-worker what I'd asked for, and from her, there was a very hefty bag labelled "topsoil" on my doorstep. Thing was... it was soaking wet. So... yeah, I got a bag of mud for mudder's day!

I've already used it, too. I planted a fig tree.

And even aside from that, I have had a wonderful day! My girls and I spent most of it out, from breakfast with the in-laws to church to getting to see a new friend's baby and fantabulous and easy cobbler.

So, late as it is, I hope everyone out there had an awesome Mudder's Day!

My husband might be upset if he found out I didn't mention what HE got me for mother's day. Well... made for me. Which is, a silver bracelet from the 1960s (though I'm not sure why that was important to him) which he made into a charm bracelet for me with teeny tiny picture frames for our girls, a heart, and a couple dragons.

He wanted to find a place that would engrave a final charm for me, but he hasn't gotten that one yet. He said he wants it to read, "Mother of dragons".

Oh, yes. I like that very much, even if my hair's not silver like Dany's.

Mud for Mother's Day??? That is hilarious. It's amazing how things change once you have kids, right? I asked for a new vacuum for my birthday. Sheesh!

I have been spending a lot of $$$ on our first raised bed this year and yard work because we moved in a year ago. Sounds like you received a great gift to me... a little mud & good laughs that you have shared with us all!
