Worried about not losing

I have been on plan for 9 days now. For some reason I am stuck at 240. I just weighed in at 241.2, which is up a pound in the last 5 days. I am eating about 1700-1800, and today I am at 26 g of carbs. Weight should be melting off of me, but it isn't.

Right now I am cooking up 8 ozs. of beef, a cup of mushrooms, and a can of tomatoes for supper, and plan to watch the Survivor finale, and then get to bed. I am really hoping for a large drop soon. I know sometimes we stall for a bit as the body readjusts, but this is driving me nuts. I should be 30 lbs lighter right now, so weight loss doesn't even seem good anymore, because it is just weight I put on over the last 3 months.

So I am just going to fake it till I make it, and hope when the scale moves that it is enough to be worth this wait.

    Stalls are lousy.
I know this is harder, but try to remember that everything you're doing is helping your heart and your general health. Remember those goals of yours... going back to school, getting a job ... you can only pursue those if you're taking care of yourself, and that's what you're doing. Your body has had a LOT of healing to do, and maybe right now it's just in a Rest and Recovery mode. Be proud of all the had work you've done, and have faith that it's paying off every day, even if the payoff doesn't show up on the scale.

    From your info page, it looks like you've already lost 100 pounds plus. So your body is probably doing a reset. As folks here have already told you, just wait it out. When I first went from 230 to 147, I waited 3 months before I lost more weight - didn't change what I ate or how I exercised to lose that first 85 pounds or so. Then in month 3 (90 days) I dropped 15 pounds. Hang in there!

    Sometimes people just don't lose for a period of time... plateau - your body needs to adjust and maybe re-group. Have patience. I've stayed about the same for many weeks at a time at times, and more often, the older I get.

Just don't give up - if you're eating right for you, it will come off!

    Staying steady is better than gaining. I know that's cold comfort, but hopefully your metabolism will wake up and the scale will start going in the right direction soon!
