Success or Not?

Sunday, May 12, 2013

So I have learned many things this week about my relationship with food and specifically MyFitnessPal. I did log all the food, but I won't be doing that again...

First, I can not figure out how to input the workouts I do with my trainer into the thing. It doesn't know what a back squat is. It is impossible to work with. Summary, I don't like the exercise tracking on MyFitnessPal.

Second, I hate counting calories. I don't understand how do be a human being and not be a horrible grump on the 1200 calories that MyFitnessPal thinks I should eat a day. I value my relationships with my family more than that. And I just don't like the process of inputing everything I eat. It makes me mad. Summary, food logging and calorie counting are not so good for me.

Third, I don't like the way it counts food. There is a difference between the sugar in an apple and the sugar in an oreo. I can't think that I am going to get fatter by eating two apples a day (and going over the sugar limit). Apples don't make people fat.

So what am I going to do?
After talking to my husband (wonderful, supportive man!) he suggested trying WW Core list. That gives a list of food one can eat in unlimited amounts, including the apples that were making me crazy, and a set number of points to spend on anything else I want. This sounds much more like something I can live with.

So here is to the next week... Hopefully with more FishBucks at the end.
