Getting active

Getting active is a big challenge for me. I am overweight and have back problems. I have allowed myself to make excuses for so long, that it is a way of life. I try to tell myself differently because I stay busy doing a lot of things that are more sedentary like computer work, watching TV, driving, etc. I have to make a change. Working out is not fun when you are out of shape because its painful. I know that if I will just get started it will make a difference. Today's Spark Coach lesson was all about overcoming the excuses for not making the changes and sticking with them. I have book marked the articles so I can retread them when I need encouragement. I am just getting started, but feel optimistic that I can succeed.

    It doesn't have to be painful....I don't like pain, it hurts :)

    Take it as slow as you need to. The main thing is to start, and make it a habit. If you like to jog...try 2 mins. in place, do that every night for a week? Next week, can you up it to 5? or a walk around the block a few times? Don't make difficult what doesn't have to be...

    I know where you are coming from!! My "excuse" is not that it hurts, it's that I'd rather do other things with my time. I have a million + reasons why. . . .

    There are so many videos on here, and we can sit while exercising.

    I bought the new book, and it arrived last week. .. and I've read a few pages (can you see I'm an avoider??? lol)
