I just finished an awesome 45 minute cardio workout! Its a workout that I haven't done in about several months...a video game for Wii called "My Fitness Coach." Now maybe you might think a video game couldn't really be such a great workout. But trust me, this one really makes me WORK and sweat! Here's a Youtube video of the cardio workout portion;

Anyway, this is the workout I started with on March 1, 2012. I was 286 lbs back then, and the thought of doing 45 minutes of cardio seemed like the impossible dream! I could barely get through 15 minutes of that workout, and I had to modify a lot of the moves and go at a slower pace. And even then, I would be exhausted at the end of the workout! But I stuck with it, and within a few months I was able to workout longer, and although I still had to make modifications, I was really proud of my progress. I continued doing that workout daily, until I started to get bored with it. Then I put it away for a while, but I always knew I'd eventually want to come back to it. And now, almost 6 months later, I'm doing that workout again.

Today's workout was amazing, because I could see how much FITTER I've gotten since the last time I did it! Not only did I have more endurance, but I had more strength. I could actually do all the moves that I had to modify before, this time without having to modify them! Oh, it was a struggle to do certain moves, but thats what makes it great. Struggles make you stronger, after all. I never get frustrated when I struggle with a workout. I actually look forward to struggles, because I know I will eventually get better if I just keep trying. And to me, one of the best feelings in the world is when I can finally do something that used to be too hard for me.

There once was a time when I used to say I didn't have time to workout. Funny though...I always had time to sit and watch TV. I had all the time in the world to eat unhealthy food. I had plenty of time to sit around and hope that "someday", I would lose weight. But really, I was just wasting every moment of my life. Thank God, I don't do that anymore. I DO have time to workout, because I make it a priority. I always remind myself that I am worth my best effort. And you are worth YOUR best effort too!

    emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Sorry to hear about the weight gain but we got this! I've gained & lost the same 15 pounds a few times now! But that's okay because the difference is we didn't give up & throw in the towel like I did a gazillion times before! We are now moving forward again with lots of momentum & it's building as we go!!! emoticon emoticon

    I really liked your blog.....we sometimes forget that it's OK to modify the moves while we are trying to build our endurance/muscles/etc and that it doesn't mean we are not working! Yes, we need to struggle to get strong!!!! thanks for the great blog!

    Thanks for the great blog! How great that are you are feeling yourself getting stronger! I feel the same with the planks the leader in Faithful Workouts (video and TV show) does. I couldn't do a plank for two seconds when I started! I thought they were impossible! Now, I can do them and I'm lengthening the time bit by bit.
Congrats on your successes!! emoticon

    Enjoyed your blog, especially all your comments about struggle. Anything in life is a struggle, we choose those struggles we wish to conquer and put aside the rest for another time. It always amazes me that when I revisit a DVD that was a challenge for me a month or two ago, is not as challenging today. And tomorrow there may be another struggle that I run into, but I won't give up, I shall return and I shall conquer.

Thanks, you're SUPAH WOMAN!
