Future plans

Sunday, May 12, 2013

At brunch with the family today I made plans for the next couple weekends with my brothers. So far it looks like kayaking with Jeremy next Saturday, followed by hiking with Jonathan on Sunday. (My dad agreed to dogsit both days, so Cooper will be a happy pup.) Then the following weekend Jeremy has off from work for an extended long weekend, so he wants to paddle every day he is off. That should be five days of paddling in a row. Woohoo! I don't know when I am going to fit in my runs though. I will have to figure it out as I go along. We are going to pick up Cooper's life jacket next Saturday, so he can go out with us a few times. I got a different leash to use out on the water as well. The powerwalker retractable leash wouldn't work so well. so I got a plain canvas leash. My brother suggested fastening his leash to the kayak, but I worry about what would happen if I managed (somehow) to tip my kayak over, though that is very unlikely. I think I would rather clip his leash to my PFD. Any advice from other dog lover's?

Brunch with the family was lovely. We had construct your own breakfast burritos with egg, avocado, asparagus, salsa and hot sauce. Also there were pancakes with real maple syrup, baked sweet potatoes, english muffins, fruit salad, and a wide array of different juices. I spilled one glass of juice all over the table (oops!), so I only had one glass of juice, then stuck with water, because it doesn't make a sticky mess when it spills. lol I took Cooper for a long walk on our way to brunch, and then he spent a good bit of time playing with Jeremy, so now he is sound asleep in my lap. He has my left arm pinned down, so I am having to type this one handed. I will take him out for another walk in an hour or two. He sure is a happy pup!
