I'm starting to back off on my running in anticipation for my scheduled half-marathon on May 19th; the Green Bay CellCom Marathon/Half-Marathon. I have never run a half-marathon this early in the running season and for good reason. With the unpredictable spring weather that Wisconsin can experience, it's a challenge to get the training mileage completed. This spring has been has been particularly challenging; I've dealt with snow, windchills of below 10 degrees, rain and high winds. Yesterday was no exception to the roller coaster of the spring weather we've been experiencing - on Thursday I was running in a tank top and capris in 80 degree weather, yesterday? Let's just say the temp was 45 degrees with 20 mph winds - brrrr!! Thankful, I only had to go 8 miles. Today, is a cross-training day, so I'll try and get a 4 mile walk accomplished.
My DH and I went to my parent's last night to spend time with my Mom and we also watched a portion of the NASCAR race. Didn't stay to the end, who won?
This morning, we're off to the local home improvement store, a stop at the mother-in-law's place and back home to try and get some more yard work done. As weird as this sounds, I'm looking forward to getting on the riding lawn mower and doing some lawn mowing.
Happy Mother's Day to all those mom's of furkitties:
Have a blessed Sunday!
