digging in the dirt

Sunday, May 12, 2013

Mot of my exercise last week was related to transplanting and weeding. I dug so much I broke a spade.
I dug through rocky soil, wet clay and in yesterday's downpour - spring is a great time to move stuff.
I love how many types of shovels there are - rabbit spade, coffered spade, edger, round nosed are the ones I learned today when the searching the web for a new one. A steel rabbiting spade goes for $80 in the UK. WOW ( i want one, but cant find anyone that sells them here).

I woke up and my hands are a little stiff. Its 46 degrees today and the trasnplants should take without too much distress until the rain ends on Thursday.

Happy mothers day, mom and moms of the world. It's a labor of love that never ends, even when your kids ask you to stop mothering them :)

The world is certainly greening up with all the rain. I bought myself a couple of hanging plants yesterday. I used to be able to plant, but now that I've moved there's no where to plant anything.
