A better Saturday.

Sunday, May 12, 2013

Oh, geez, so I know my last blog was a whiny vent (sorry about that, but it helped to dump it out and move on) and I really, really appreciate everyone's support! Positive thing: Usually I would have kept all of that to myself and probably crammed down my negative emotions with food (and I'm not talking strawberries or veggies either!)...

So yesterday went really well. Well-- I guess emoticon

emoticon I had to brave the mall yesterday for last minute mother's day gifts-- nope, I had all of mine for my mother and grandmother... but the DF, well, he is never "on top" of those things. He didn't remember cards for anyone, gifts for anyone and well, I can't be that significant other that doesn't recognize the women who helped raise him! It was chaotic to say the least. Why do so many people wait to the the last minute?! Anyway, presents achieved and I may have scored a great deal on some new bras at Victoria Secret... Yeah, I do have a 'shopping habit'...

emoticon emoticon emoticon Friend's graduation party from nursing school. She liked her gift, so that was a positive. I didn't drink!!!! I didn't eat any of the finger foods and sipped my ice coffee (black) and later, my seltzer water I had brought. Now, as I get further along in my process, I will venture back to making wise choices. Especially this time, I didn't want to come "unglued" and right now, I don't know if I trust myself fully.

emoticon emoticon After the party (my little brother went with me because he is friends with my friend's kids-- yeah, this is a story for another day), I was taking my little brother home and DF called and suggested we go to a movie... only, little brother was hungry and so was DF (another-- haven't eaten in too many hours for him-- because of a work crisis) so we decided to go to dinner out *again* (scary stuff, huh?) My other brother works out Outback, so of course, my little brother wanted to go since he was working. Easy choice tonight, ladies & gents emoticon We had a great dinner and I made good choices (like no bread & butter? and LOTS of water with 3 slices of lemon- it pays to know your server, huh?) Everything was perfect and we had a really great time.

The brother and his girlfriend came over after they got off work (they both work at OB and she has a career as well but works the weekends for extra money) and he signed the mother's day cards and looked over the presents I bought mom (we are giving her a mother's ring this year) Brother's GF is expecting, so I gave her her first mother's day gift (I got her an adorable diaper bag made-- unisex since we don't know yet) she loved it and my brother said they had actually almost bought one this week but couldn't decide on pink/blue or color so they just gave up! We had a great, late-night sibling bonding night.

While I didn't get any formal exercise in yesterday, I did get tons of walking in at the mall, and quite a bit at the grad party (and I didn't sit once), so I'm going to say it was a good day. Though my plantar faciitis is acting up on the right foot... exercises here I come!

My DF got me a gorgeous hanging basket of purple flowers that are billowing out of the basket-- he said this was my mother's day gift from our furbabies. HAHA! Too funny. Gorgeous flowers though and I immediately hung them on our porch-- they make it look great!

All in all- rebounded from a crappy Friday with a jam-packed Saturday. Now off to a crazy busy Sunday of cooking (finishing up) and family (his and mine, but separate-- we'll see if we can pull this off)

I hope everyone has a beautiful day-- celebrate the loving, caring women in your lives and enjoy some spring air.

Goals for Next week: GET ON TRACK WITH MY EXERCISE & GET MY 120 MINUTES IN! emoticon emoticon emoticon
