...way more conventional!
Usually Mother's Day is a day to hang out, my daughters come over and we go to the park with lunch and/or work out, go to yoga, hiking, maybe clothes shopping.
Today is going out to a fabulous restaurant brunch. Buffet-style.
This is how I do buffets:
--Make a rough food plan in advance, balancing vegetables and clean-ish proteins.
--Arrive at restaurant.
--Scope out what looks yummy.
--Take some of everything, regardless of plan.
--Eat one or two of every dessert.
--Leave with a belly ache and regrets.
--Spend the rest of the day lying around vow never to do that again, using phrases like, "It isn't worth it."
So far, I am adhering to plan. I read the menu and have decided what sounds awesome.
I realize, though, that I am going to eat whatever catches my fancy and I am probably going to spend the afternoon making empty vows not to embarrass myself at buffets any more.
