I was in the grocery store yesterday looking for radishes and vitamin water, and saw that diet tonic water has no calories and it contains quinine. Now for folks who don't know, quinine is supposed to relieve leg cramps but it's no longer prescribed for that because of all the new medications out there. Oh and of course, prescription strength quinine might kills you. But never mind. So will most other meds.
Next to the quinine containing tonic water was a "new" drink called Neuro-Sleep, which contained according to the label 30 calories and loads of magnesium. I take loads of magnesium in any event because it is supposed to calm cramps, but okay, can a little more hurt?
I drank about four ounces of each before I went to bed (nasty) and put my infrared heating pad on my bed with the timer set for 60 minutes. And miracles! No cramps. This is the first night in probably a year that I've had a full night sleep. So I'm full of song this morning and wondering if it was a fluke.
A single swallow doesn't make a meal, but one thing I know, my body is different from the "norm" whatever the norm may be, and I have to find what works for me - in weight loss, in weight maintenance, in fitness, and in sleep. We're all built according to a very loose set of blueprints!!
Have a lovely Mother's Day!
