I have been kind of easing myself into Spark since I found my pep again, but it hasn't been terribly stringent or successful. (Funny how those two go together!) It's been a pretty lacklustre effort. Tracking most days, but not til after the fact, and by then it's too late. Not doing great with water. Not even sleeping great, although I finally finished the last book of the Sookie Stackhouse series, so I'm not staying up late because of that. (I'm also now looking for equally fluffy material for my Kindle - recommendations?)
So I should really get my shizzle together and buckle down a bit. Tomorrow's going to be a rainy Sunday home alone, and as I have lots of homework to do, I'll certainly be happy to take a break to work out, meal plan, and get groceries for the week. Work has been stupid-busy lately... I have a big proposal due next week plus I'm supposed to be spending full-time effort on a seismic design project, and haven't spent any time at all on it this week. I need to have some results together for a Monday-afternoon meeting, so I definitely need to get going on it. (Of course not tonight. I'm spark blogging!) Long story short, stress levels are high and time is short.
On the plus side (S-I-D-E), I've been running two days a week on my lunch break, sometimes with another coworker, which is lovely! It's good for me to get into a weekly routine of exercise, so it just gets done and I don't have to think about it. If I don't think about it, I'm much less likely to consider skipping it! It's been a while since I've had a proper routine, too. I think I've missed it. I hope I can stick with it. Lunchtime workouts are definitely easier for me motivation-wise... after that hour-long commute home, I'm just ready for dinner, so after-work workouts are a real challenge. If I can keep up two runs a week (~5k each), our weekly yoga at the office, and yardwork on the weekends, that's not a bad base at all. Adding in one or two strength training workouts would make it complete!
So... what can I do now that will make the biggest impact on my progress?
Probably limiting my calories and making sure I'm eating only when i'm hungry (and now because I'm restless and stressy at work!) Pre-planning my food for the day would be a really smart way to go. Maybe tomorrow I'll plan out a couple of days...?
Ready, ready, ready...
Have a lovely rest-of-weekend, my chickens! xo
P.S. You know my goal of fitting back into my wedding dress by my 1st anniversary? I tried on the dress a couple of days ago. Max says I have about an inch that needs to go to get it done up. So there we have it, folks. An inch in the rib cage. Andiamo!
