I am a night time snacker. I need texture, I need salt, then I need sweet, and sometimes creamy. I crave the whole gambit. Once the girls go to bed around 7:30, I'm usually on the computer until midnight working (like I should be doing now). I snack to relieve stress, I snack to relieve boredom, to help me stay awake. Its usually where I take my awesome day of staying on track and throw it out the window.
I've had a lot more motivation lately since I am back on the Spark bandwagon, and I am stopping to think about what I'm shovelling in my mouth at night. I have found (which I'm sure is nothing new to anyone else) that a glass of water with lemon in it not only quenches my thirst, but calms my urge to eat the contents of the refrigerator. Plus, I enjoy how it tastes. I've read it been said that 2/3 of the time we misinterpret thirst for hunger. It also helps keep me awake to work and helps me focus.
I've probably tripled my water intake because of this little dieting un-secret. Yay! So even though today was incredibly stressful and depressing (money, or lack thereof, is the devil), at least I can say I stayed on track with food and drank a small kiddie pool.
Ok folks, back to work.
