Wk 109 Weigh In

Saturday, May 11, 2013

This week went about the same as last week... very slowly. I don't think I like this "work" thing very much and I wish to not do it anymore! Alright, I don't mind working, but the aforementioned work is so mind numbingly boring, it makes me long for a factory job where at least I have the possibility of getting my hand caught in some contraption. Of course where I work, the most dangerous machines are the copier, fax machine and mail scale / postage printer. Not exactly fear inducing.

Mind you, I'm not advocating for the loss of one's digits here, just explaining that the possibility of it happening would be a welcome excitement in my usual day.

Before this blog becomes a whine fest, I'll get to this weeks numbers.

Weight : 211.0
Lost : 0.6
Total : 106.2

It's a small loss, but a loss none the less and I'll take it. I always want to post losses of one, two or more pounds, but at this stage of the game, I'm just glad to be making progress!

Now it's time to get ready to head out to lunch with my son. Afterwards we'll do some grocery shopping, fill up my truck with gas and make a deposit at the bank. Sometime between 3 and 5 this afternoon I will be going to Starbucks for my venti java chip frappuccino... their happy hour promotion is on through the 12th, half price frappuccinos. When they do the half price frappuccino happy hour promotion it makes me think about the old classic song "It's the most wonderful time of the year".

I love me some java chip frappuccino :)

I hope all of you out there in Spark land have a great weekend.

Ken, just know that I'm not poking fun of you but after reading your last couple of blogs about the job, I can't help but laugh. You really in my opinion have a great sense of humor. emoticon

I'm glad to know that your weight is still coming down.

I look forward to reading the next blog my friend.

With your humor why not try being a stand up comedian...just a thought~ (grin)

Congrats on another loss...and we've had this conversation's not about how much of a loss, it's the fact you are still losing...RIGHT? Right.

I've had a really sad week, my kitty died Thursday AM, he was 18 yrs. old, I've had him since he was a baby. He was was buddy and the only thing I've had to come home to since my divorce almost 15 yrs ago...pretty sad huh? Anyway, I'm not going to let this set-back get me off fact the scales were down 2.8 lbs. from this same day last week...we'll see how that all pans out as the week goes on. My weigh in is Thursday night and I'll see then.

You just keep plugging along there Mr. Ken and remember..."You never know what the tide might bring" (do you know what movie that's from?)

I agree, any loss is still a loss, and that's progress!

Mind-numbing jobs can really try your patience; I was in one for many years. But on the up side, you have employment and some income, and can still look around for something you'd be happier with. Good luck!

Btw what exactly is a java chip frappucino anyway, besides hard to spell? I stick to this quaint little drink named "coffee" :)

Ha! I totally understand the thought that ANYTHING happening would be preferable to a long day of nothing!! But, as a newly-trained medical responder, I hope you find a better way to entertain yourself though :)

Great job on the loss!! The scale isn't moving much for me these days, so any loss in my book is a GREAT loss!

Have a great week!!

Was just talking with my sister the other day, reminiscing to the days we waitressed to get though college. We both agreed that was one of the most enjoyable jobs we've had. You leave your work 'at work', you're usually busy the entire time, can make some decent tips, and get to meet lots of people. It was hard work, and had it's drawbacks, too, of course, but point is - I can certainly relate to the boredom of the copier, fax machine, and postage machine! I, too, would much rather be busy and have the time pass. (And it sure does fly with a room full of 6 and 7 year olds while you're trying to cram mandated curriculum into every passing minute!) Gee...can you wear an ipod and keep one earbud in all day?

Congrats on the loss. Slow and steady - you continue to move forward and those losses are adding up! You continue to inspire me! (And guilt me into getting myself back in gear!!!)
Keep up the great work!
