First Day of Tracking

My first day of tracking went really well. I expected to be way over my calorie count but I really only went over it by 169 calories and for me that is amazing because I've been having horrible binges like almost every day for the last few weeks. The problem is that I kept telling myself that the diet would begin the next day and that automatically makes me want to start eating all of the foods that I will no longer be able to eat, but now that I've given myself permission to eat any and everything as long as I track it a lot of foods no longer seem desirable.

I no longer have the need to binge because I don't have to have everything today or right now I can always have it later if I want. I know I'm repeating myself but I'm so amazed at the pressure this has taken off of me to be able to eat anything at anytime that I want. I'm looking forward to seeing how today will go.

    That's wonderful. So many of us restrict ourselves so much in the beginning which is why I think we fall down. I've learned over the years that I have to make adjustments that work for me. You've found a common ground for you and I hope that things workout for you. As you get accustomed to little changes you can always eliminate or reduce those things that aren't helping you on your journey. Blessing

  Good for you as we al know, tmorrow never comes so we're starting today! Good revelation and it's all about you! It's not that you won't be able to enjoy these foods, it's everything in moderation as you are entering a life style change.     Words are powerful! It's like telling someone not to think of a pink elephant. If you've never thought about a pink elephant, you will now. A 'diet' today means deprivation (to diet tells your mind to store up because you're going to be without for a while.) However, check out the dictionary, a 'diet' is nothing but what you habitually consume; it's really quite a neutral word. What makes it more healthy or unhealthy is what and how much you eat. Choose the words you use carefully and if need be redefine them for yourself, which is exactly what a choice to live a healthy lifestyle does, then do so.

The power is IN YOU to make your goals happen. emoticon

    Tell the negative committee who lives in your head to sit down and shut up. I can stave mine off by giving them a 100 calories snack pack of Oreo wafers. Cookies always quiets them.

Okay, humor aside, think about what you're eating and know YOU are accountable for everything YOU eat. When you have to look at the tracker daily you begin to see that some stuff you really didn't need. So the next time your faced with that decision you'll ask yourself if you really want to see that in print.
