My best, yet!

Yesterday I ran my 4.25 in 40 minutes. That came to 9.25 minute mile. I'm still trying to figure out this running thing. I knew I started out to fast because I was "dying." I had to walk more often, but i would do it for a shorter distance. My daughter said I need to work on pacing. I agree! emoticon

She mentioned the mental toughness of running and that it's harder than the physcial aspect. She told me to NOT stop running. Even if my pace is so slow that I'm barely moving my feet, she said her coach told her to keep "running."

Today I'm going to go out and practice that. I WILL "run" the hills in my route and work on pacing. I was quite proud of myself yesterday, though!

    I have pace problems too and completely agree, it is so much about getting your head in the right mental place. Good luck with your training and progress.

    great job!! So, jealous. I wish I could run. I have knee issues that prevent me from doing it. My daughter runs to keep her in shape for field hockey and lacrosse. I told her that she is so lucky that she can run and to keep it up. It's a great way to stay in shape.

you should be definitely proud of yourself!

    Congratulations. I totally agree that it's a very mental struggle. I'm working on that now.... just keep running, even if its more of a trot....I keep telling myself.
