Bagheera/Smokey breakthru

Saturday, May 11, 2013

Caught the boys napping together yesterday. Baggy was on the floor under the bed where Smokey napped. FYI Baggy is a Maine Coon, Smokey not.

& Baggy is eating much better. Still likes the wet food more.

When I came home last night, Smokey greeted me. & when I was giving him more belly rubs in the bedroom, Baggy came in & greeted me, but also clearly wanted me to follow him. He had finished off the hard food & wanted more. So he knows he can ask for affection & food. A good thing.
Smokey has been so patient & very gentle with Baggy. He realized his new friend was nervous.
I think Smokey & I are making progress with Baggy.
Have a great Saturday.

Sounds like things are going well. They are both very beautiful cats. We had a part-Main Coon that was the nicest thing though she came from a farm and couldn't ever get completely over that scavenging type of childhood that she had. She was the boss of her other 2 brothers for sure.

Great progress! Do you know of Baggy's past or was he a rescue? I'm impressed with just how patient and kind Smokey has been with his new room mate!

I have a special place in my heart for Maine Coons. We were lucky enough to share our home with our gentle giant (he weighed 22 without any fat on him) for 17 years. He was such a character too! They all are of course, but the MC's are known for sleeping in strange positions and just having strong personalities.

I'm glad things are going so well for you already! emoticon

I'm glad Baggy is coming around. The feral cat that adopted me is very comfortable inside but prefers outside. My other cats prefer him outside too!! Lol.

emoticon Baggy is making giant steps forward and you are right Smokey has given him the assurance he needs. This calls for treats all around!
