Week 28: Saturday Blast Off

Today is the day the Shooting Stars in Spring super 5% Challenge takes off. I have weighed in and recorded it and changed my ticker to reflect the challenge for 8 weeks from today. Unfortunately it took me 11 weeks to achieve my last 5% Challenge from Winter to Spring, but this time I am hoping to rock and achieve it in the 8 weeks.

Challenge for this week is to get all my exercise in and drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. An additional is going to be week 3 when we head for Aldernay for our first holiday alone together in 40 years of marriage! At least nearly alone. We are staying with a friend of my DH from the Aldernay Hard of Hearing Club. It'll be brill and I am getting really excited about it.

Today is a busy day of teaching for me but I hope to get out in the garden afterwards as I am only a quarter of the way with digging it over after the winter. Until a month ago we had almost non stop rain - or that's how it seemed and there was never a time when the ground wasn't waterlogged. Now it's gone the other way and it is as dry as a bone despite 3 days of drizzle but not enough to put much moisture back.

The last 3 days I have been swimming early morning, but am having a break today. I shall get back to it on Monday.

    emoticon of your challenge, Go for it! emoticon You did 5% before even if it took extra time for you. We all lose at a different rate. I know you have looked over what happened in the last challenge and have figured out any tweaks that need to be done to make this happen. As to taking a break, we need a rest day somewhere in there so the body can catchup with what you are doing to it. emoticon

    Congrats on hitting your 5% goal, even if it took you 11 weeks you still managed to hit it. I actually ended up gaining since the end of the challenge and missed my 5% by a little over 1 pound, now I'm up a pound from there and am hoping that with this challenge I will be able to lose the 5% and finally be under 140. It seems like I have been working at it for so long already!

You are off to a great start on this new challenge and I know that you will do great on your journey. Thanks for being such a dedicated Shooting Star!!
