Walking for Fitness

I'm a walker and love to be outdoors enjoying both the fresh air and the benefits. Walking became a part of my life about a year and a half ago and to this day - I feel as though I am truly missing something that is a part of me if I don't "get out and walk" everyday! I look for every opportunity to get in a few extra steps and even have learned to embrace walking my puppy as something that isn't a chore but good for both him and me!
Today I walked 7.4 miles and still have another outing with my puppy before the evening is over. This is a new personal best for me and I am excited to have reached this goal without even trying or consciously thinking about setting a new bar for myself. Its my time to think things out, to meditate and to "talk" to my pooch without having to have an answer as I get it off my chest!
Anyone else out there walking for their health? Have any great music you listen to or things you meditate on? What goals have YOU reached? I would love hearing from you and making new walking friends. I'm up for a challenge if you are!
